With almost 30 years of djing and 20 years of studio production under his belt, Dj Onionz rocks your dancefloor with new music served in an old school way. His accomplishments in the 90s were endless and respected all over the world. The creation of his Electrik Soul label in 1994 helped begin the techouse movement. He’s Remixed everyone from popular mainstream artists like Roy Ayers, Celia Cruz, Blue Man Group , to dance music sensations, Dj Pierre, Funk D Void and Nic Fanciulli. This year Onionz has had music released on Carl Cox’s Intec Digital label, Nervous Records and Bush Recordings. He’s been releasing and promoting great younger talent on his Electrik Soul with artists like, Alland Byallo, Worthy, Agent Orange, Sam Ball and Rammon Tapia. We hope you can digest, appreciate and enjoy the sounds of Dj Onionz as he takes you to the next best moment. Joining him we also have our home town favorite, NIKOLA BAYTALA who needs no wordy introduction. He is the man.

Bio: Music is in the genetic code of Andrew Venegas known globally as the in demand DJ/producer Onionz. A recognized New York legend, Onionz was immersed in a world of music literately from birth with his Latin/Jazz icon father, Victor Venegas playing upright bass in the company of Jazz legends Ella Fitzgerald, Tito Puente and Celia Cruz and Mongo Santamaria in the 1970s and early 80s. Prior to entering his teens Andrew was appearing in front of thousands in New York City playing percussion with amazing artists such as Dave Amram, Candido, Steve Berrios, Paquito DeRivera and childhood friend Adam Cruz (drummer for Chic Correa).
Evolving across to electronic music, in 1982 Onionz hands were on his first set of turntables and the rest is history. Early gigs from Andrew were characterized as legendary nights and early mornings at almost every NYC venue imaginable. Production wise, Onionz has released over a staggering 100 (originals and remixes) over the last 15 years of studio production with the count on the increase and has a hectic gig and tour schedule, setting off dance floors in over 30 countries with that count continually growing.
His status on the decks is set in stone while his unfathomable understanding of sound and musically creating an emotion has awarded him international recognition in the world of electronic dance music.
With achievements including establishment of his own label Electrik Soul in 1982 and his solid production work gaining attention of the powers that be. With the re launch of Electrik Soul around the corner and a line up of industry heavyweights collaborating with remixes on the ES label, Onionz is set to take the dance music scene to the next dimension. Electrik Soul relaunches with remixes already in the bag from oldskool heavyweights Derrick Carter, T Paterson, Magic Johnson, Bryan Zentz and Jamie Anderson.
New school heavyweights onboard include Worhty, Slok and Sonic Union. Electrik Soul Sessions are in the works that will feature label talent and live VJ sets on the nights along with Onionz himself with the Electrik Soul Band. The Electrik Soul Sessions will elevate your mind.
Electrik Soul is a genre, not stagnant in one style of electronic music, Electrik Soul is a movement in music.

Bio: San Francisco DJ Nikola Baytala has become a crucial component of the minimal-techno collective known as Kontrol. When you see a DJ possess such wide-ranging, outstanding taste, it instills confidence that he/she will rarely, if ever, veer into wackness. Baytala clearly has put many hours of study into his craft, and it’s paid off with smooth mixes and world-class track selection. Besides his formidable technical skills and profound knowledge, Baytala reportedly exudes a lot of personality and passion behind the decks, which must have served him well while opening for acts like Jane’s Addiction.
Everything I’ve heard by Baytala suggests that his sets avoid the
supposed pitfalls of minimal dance music. They’re kinetic, dynamic, and, of course, cheese-free. I can’t believe I’ve only just recently found out about this mensch.

It is very strange to write one’s biography because it is just a list of dates, events, and achievements. In reality the most important things about one’s life happen in the secret chambers of the heart and cannot be included in a list like this. I think that my most significant achievement is not my {djing}, but the love I share with my family. But in this web-site we need to have my bio: students and journalists request it often.

Fil Latorre is a San Francisco-based DJ, producer and promoter, who has been on the electronic music scene since 1993. Less than a year after stepping behind the turntables, he won the first annual Fever/Buzz Battle of the DJs in Baltimore, Maryland. Since then, he has played at events throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and South America . Fil is the co-founder of Washington D.C.’s Dirty Crew, as well as San Francisco’s acclaimed Stap[e. Not pinning himself to one distinct style, Fil has sifted through a mosaic of influences, from classic jazz and obscure ’80s Italo-disco, to create a soulful, deep techno and house sound.
