We get to enjoy Eddie Amador unlike any other gig in the world… why?
I spoke to Eddie on Sunday. He had just returned from Spain where he’s been busy remixing a bunch of material. We spoke about all kinds of things but mainly how excited he is to play at a smaller intimate midweek event like Housepitality. You see, Eddie only plays big room gigs for big room crowds these days so he seldom gets a chance to drop all those deep underground cuts in his artillery. So this is a very unique event. You get to experience Eddie drop a special set for our special San Francisco midweek get down. He knows what we are about. One thing is for sure, a house music veteran like Eddie KNOWS what it takes to get a crowd moving. Oh, Its ON!
It is hard to describe how fortunate we are to have Eddie Amador play at Housepitality. Many new school heads don’t even recognize his name these days but anyone who has been listening to underground house music since the 90’s KNOWS what is about to go down. Lets face it, Eddie Amador changed house music forever with his debut cut appropriately named “House Music,” released on Deep Dish’s label Yoshitoshi back in 98. This cut went so big that it finally hurdled the house sound into the mainstream forever and turned many people onto the house sound for the first time. The lyrics are stuck in old school house music for life: “Not eveyone understands house music… Its a spiritual thing, a body thing, a soul thing… ”
Since then Eddie has gone on to become beyond just a famous household name after producing a whole roster of anthems on various labels. He has played all over the planet in all the biggest clubs and festivals. He is a busy producer today doing remixes for platinum artists like Seal, Madonna, Yoko Ono and more… SO.. again, why is a HUGE successful dj producer like Eddie Amador who usually plays the biggest clubs in the world doing playing at Housepitality this week? He is taking it back to the roots JUST FOR YOU SF.

EDDIE AMADOR BIO:
Eddie exploded onto the scene in 1998 by penning the infamous lyrics…’not everyone understands house music, it’s a spirtual thing, a body thing, a soul thing. He set them to a hypnotic pulsating beat and the seminal dance classic ‘HOUSE MUSIC’ was born. ‘House Music’ went on to become a global hit and secured Eddie an album deal with Deep Dish’s Yoshitoshi label. However, it was his next single ‘RISE’ which proved that Eddie was no one hit wonder.
Catapulting into the top 20 of the UK national chart, ‘RISE’ propelled Eddie to the status of a world class dj and he was now performing at such super clubs as Ministry of Sound, The Queen, Centro Fly, Crobar, Stereo as well as Pacha & Space in Ibiza. Eddie’s international success allowed him the freedom and opportunity to set up a second studio in Amsterdam in 2003. Not long after switching continents, Eddie collaborated with fellow American producer Ian Carey under the moniker ‘Saturated Soul.’ The duo had a string of productions and remixes including ‘Got To Release’ on Defected Records & ‘Say What You Want’ on Nero. Meanwhile, Eddie was still turning out prime cuts for Yoshitoshi including “Shake It” in 2005 and “6am” in 2006.
Eddie moved back to Los Angeles in 2007 and began remixing platinum recording artists Leela James, Michael Buble, and Seal for Warner Bros. Records and Reprise Records. He became part of the exclusive group to remix Madonna’s “GIVE IT TO ME” from her Hard Candy Album which became #1 on Billboards Hot Dance Club Play Chart. He’s gone on to remix Yoko Ono (#1), The Veronicas, Alanis Morissette, Sliimy, Donna Summer (#1), Chris Willis (#1), Kimberly Cole, Jason Derulo,Blush,Ultra Nate,MIchelle Williams and Kerli (#1). Eddie continues to be sought after for his productions, remixes and solid DJing skills as he continues to pour his soul and excitement into the ever expanding world of electronic dance music!
Emanate Bio (Mioli Music)
Emanate aka Nathan Vain & Emily Fox fell in love with the mystique of electronic music. Nathan Vain knew right away what his future held when he acquired his first turntables at the age of 17. Emily Fox took a different route starting her journey in the scene as a promoter and landing Nathan his first residency at a popular after hours spot back in 2001.
A few years down the road and a desire for success growing strong they moved to San Francisco together and started producing music as Emanate in 2003. From House, Breaks to Downtempo they’ve established and developed their skills experimenting with influential song styles and formats but have never strayed far from their roots with deeper Techno and Tech House music. Nathan enhanced his knowledge of the industry working at DanceRecords from 2004 – 2009 with a stint interning at the Mothership/ Dirtybird offices. Emily developed her understanding of the Electronic music culture by throwing various parties throughout San Francisco over the years.
Following the path of natural evolution and with various label influences such as Bedrock and Cocoon, they started up their own label, Mioli Music. Since 2010 they’ve released music as Emanate and individually as well as have signed various International artists on Mioli (Move It Or Lose It). Today Emanate is primarily involved in Techno & Tech House music. With their DJ sets you can expect a clever blend and balance of deep and edgy music.
World class acts, world class music. We got you! see you on the dancefloor!
