( ( ( ( (H O U S E P I T A L I T Y) ) ) ) ) proudly welcomes a rising star of underground dance music, along with a set from our founder, and a main room debut from a local veteran:
::FRANCESCA LOMBARDO (Crosstown Rebels | London)::
::MICHAEL TELLO (Touch of Class, PillowTalk | SF)::
::PAUL CAREY (Tweekin’ | SF)::
Groove Lounge:
::MIKE BEE (Vinyl Dreams, Housepitality | SF)::
::JOEL CONWAY (Bubble, Housepitality | SF)::
Every once in a while, Housepitality gets a crack at booking an artist immediately before they blow up, and become unaffordable or unrealistic to book. This is one of those times.
Growing up and cutting her teeth as a DJ in the London club and underground scene, and releasing music under a handful of aliases (along with doing some vocal work), Francesca Lombardo finally began releasing music and DJing under her own name. She’s been picked up by the legendary Crosstown Rebels label, and represented by the Rebel Agency (along with DJs with names you know, like Jamie Jones and Maceo Plex).
In a couple years, this woman will be almost exclusively playing big festivals, and headlining medium-to-large clubs. Mark our words. Get in to see her in this most intimate environment while you still can.
Rounding out the night, our founder Michael Tello will get things heated up for Francesca, and longtime local veteran Paul Carey will make his (overdue) main room debut for us.
In the back, our two low-bpm vinyl masters, Mike Bee and Joel Conway, will share the night.
Boom!

Francesca Lombardo
The London based DJ, Vocal Techniques graduate and accomplished pianist first surfaced under the Jackie Misfit guise. With this alias, she DJed at various underground parties plus clubs like Brixton Academy and The Drom in the English capital,… but also released on labels like Lokomotiv Recordings and started her own imprint, Echolette Records. It was a quick success story, with remixes from the likes of Hector picking up keen support from tastemakers including Marco Carola, Radio Slave and Loco Dice.
Now, though, having also made waves as vocalist and keyboard player with Def by Disco (who toured and had residencies around the UK) this unique electronic sculptress is working under her given name, Francesca Lombardo. So far she has spun alongside titans like Sven Vath, Agoria and Tobi Neumann at places like Klubbers Festival, Madrid, and Danzoo for Space of Sound, always joining the dots between house and techno.
Production wise for this genuinely musical talent it’s all about feeling, and it has been since growing up around her father’s vast collection of instruments as a child. “My style is colourful,” she says. “I like to write a track depending on how I feel. My tracks usually follow a concept.”
Said music is inspired by a lifetime of listening to Depeche Mode, Aphex Twin, Plastikman and more recent sounds like those offered by Ghostly International and Traum. But also by playing piano at Conservatorium of Music for Classical piano and singing opera from a young age. “Despite this, I was always attracted to electronic music and machines” she remembers. “I could never really cope with classical.”

Michael Tello
Michael Tello was born in Hollywood California in 1978. The son of Latin parents with an eclectic taste in music, he was exposed to a wide variety of genres, ranging from the tribal rhythms of South America to the cutting edge, electronic sounds of the early 1980’s. At age 12, Michael’s dad Galo, purchased a DJ set up with turntables, mixer & microphone and asked him to hook it up. After the difficult but intriguing task Michael had found a new interest and love for the art of DJing. He began experimenting with his mom and dads Disco, Salsa and Funk 12” records and 45’s and has been rocking the decks ever since.
At one of his dads legendary house parties in the early 90’s Michael’s cousin gave him a mix tape simply labeled “HOUSE”, he remembers playing it and loving the repetitive Disco / Alternative rhythms and seeing his older cousins and family dance all night. Soon after he decided to check out his local record store and picked up his first 12” records.
Mikey is one of SF’s greatest musical success stories. Originally from southern California, Mikey made SF his home, and, through years of throwing parties, DJing, and producing music, eventually used this city as a launchpad to an internationally successful career in music. As part of the band PillowTalk, along with Ryan Williams and Sammy D, Mikey’s musical talent was finally displayed to a worldwide audience. The next step after successfully touring internationally was starting a label, and Mikey wasted no time in beginning his label “Touch Of Class Records,” along with his friend and musical partner Ray Zuniga.

Paul Carey
An avid record collector for almost 20 years, Paul Carey got his first taste of house music in the early underground house scene of Northern California circa 1993: A heady mix of full-moon parties, beach parties, dirty warehouses, laid-back clubs, and crazy house parties coupled with psychedelic, funky, deep house. In 2000, Paul started managing the infamous Tweekin Records and was also one of the stores buyers. Pauls talent and musical depth of field make him a standout DJ. He brings a fresh and innovative approach to the music, which assures him longevity in this highly competitive and progressive music industry. Paul has become a well-established artist in the San Francisco underground music scene. He plays cutting edge music , with one eye firmly fixed on the dancefloor at all times. His influences include: SFs legendary Wicked crew (Jeno, Garth & Markie Mark), Mark Farina, DJ Harvey ,Doc Martin, the DIY crew (UK) , DJ Buck.
