( ( ( ( (H O U S E P I T A L I T Y) ) ) ) ) is proud to present the label boss of one of the most forward-thinking dance labels around, along with an opener from a talented and fast-rising local producer:
::SETY (Circus Company, Rex Club | Paris)::
::SEPEHR (Tech Dolphin | San Francisco)::
::VICTOR VEGA (Housepitality | San Francisco)::
Groove Lounge:
::MRS. BLYTHE (Monarch, Mellow, Nuba | SF/Paris)::
When it comes to forward-thinking, jazz-influenced, weird-yet-classy dance music, Paris-based label Circus Company immediately comes to mind.
Indeed, “with a roster including Nôze, Ark, Dave Aju, dOP, Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts and DJ Koze, among many others, Circus Company has become one of Europe’s most respected modern house labels.”
Many of Housepitality’s favorite local artists (Dave Aju, Moniker, etc.) have released music on this amazing label, despite its being based in France, and there’s a reason for that: our sensibilities about dance music are the same. We love deep, yet modern house music, we love weird music, and we love stuff that makes you dance.
In addition to running one of the most quality labels out there, Sety has a residency at Rex Club in Paris, a world famous bastion of quality house and techno music.
So it comes to pass that we’re finally getting a chance to host the amazing DJ/producer who runs the Circus Company label, SETY, in our little party.
Opening up, an extremely talented friend of ours whose productions have found their way into the record bags of stars like Claude VonStroke, Sascha Robotti, Justin Martin, Danny Daze, Catz n’ Dogz, Noir, Pezzner, Tom Budden… to name a few!…: SEPEHR, of the originally-San Jose-based collective TECH DOLPHIN, which has been slowly migrating itself north to our home of San Francisco as its members have gained worldwide acclaim and success for their take on tech house music.
In the back room, a local favorite who also has worldwide cachet: MRS. BLYTHE. She holds a residency at Monarch SF in addition to several clubs from her hometown of Paris. She’s also a deep well of knowledge about eclectic club music, and writes about music as a hobby and career in addition to her other duties.
This is her second time playing for us, and we don’t invite folks back for seconds unless we truly respect what they bring to our table. We’re happy to host Mrs. Blyth once again.
Let’s do this. WE GOT YOU.
XOXO – Housepitality

Sety
Since the late ’90s, Sety has been a fierce and tireless activist within Paris’ electronic underground scene, determined to carve out a space for unconventional, experimental dance music. In 1999 he co-founded the Circus Company label, along with fellow artists Kean and Freak, of Nôze; in 10 years, it has grown from a local outpost into an international hub. With a roster including Nôze, Ark, Dave Aju, dOP, Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts and DJ Koze, among many others, Circus Company has become one of Europe’s most respected modern house labels.
Sety spent much of the label’s history working more or less behind the scenes, aside from a handful of tracks for Circus Company, Karat and Logistic (where he had the honor of remixing the godfather of minimal techno, Robert Hood). But it’s become clear that he’s not just talented DJ and curator, but also a formidable producer. His 2008 Sweet & Sour EP—which included a beautiful and often-charted remix by Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts—showed an unusual focused attention to the fusion of tones, textures and grooves in a powerful current of deep house energy. (It was all the more unusual considering that it was his first solo EP release.) Sweet & Sour received enthusiastic support from the likes of Luciano, Daniel Bell, Zip, and Ricardo Villalobos—but you wouldn’t need to know that to be swayed by the record’s immediacy. Since then, Sety has gone on to remix Butane, and more releases are in store.
Sety’s years behind the curtain didn’t curtail his activity behind the decks, however. His vision and his versatility have confirmed Sety as a promising artists in a new generation of house musicians. He holds a residency at Paris’ Rex Club, where the Circus Company family comes together, and also plays at some of the world’s most celebrated clubs—Berlin’s Panorama Bar, San Francisco’s Kontrol, London’s Fabric, São Paulo’s D-Edge… If you’ve ever caught him at any of those places, or perhaps at a party with no name in a building with no address, on a night where you lost your phone and have nothing to prove that it even ever happened, you’ll know the feeling that Sety brings. As with Circus Company’s records, it’s a vision of house music that folds its history into something familiar and strange all at once: mercurial, pulsing, unpredictable, sensual, and unforgettable.

Sepehr’s first encounter with humanity was when a confused Japanese fisherman had to untangle his limbs from a fishing net. The first vinyl he purchased was at age 4: Marvin Gaye – Sexual Healing.
In 2005 at the age of 15, Sepehr first met a scruffy young Vulcan named Ardalan. Also known at the time as “The Godfather”, Ardalan bestowed upon Sepehr a new perspective for what is possible with about 8,880 less [than 9000 -ed.] BPM.
With all of this arcane musical knowledge accumulated and flowing through his veins, Sepehr stepped up his creative vision and drive in producing the tracks he released. After dropping a track that was supported by the likes of Claude VonStroke, Sascha Robotti, Justin Martin, Danny Daze, Catz n’ Dogz, Noir, Pezzner, Tom Budden and more, the exposure of Sepehr’s sound soared and more and more people are now paying attention to what is sure to follow.
