Those in SF may not immediately know the name Taimur Agha, but in his home city, he’s something of a legend among those in the know. For serious fans of underground house and techno music, the Blkmarket Membership parties, which he co-founded, are something of a dream come true. In addition to throwing parties with some of the best guests on earth, he has been honing his craft and knowledge as a DJ, while simultaneously filling his crates, as record buyer for Halcyon records. Taimur is not playing around.
Housepitality’s Miguel Solari recently got a chance to attend one of Taimur’s parties in NYC, and was simply blown away by the experience, as well as by Mr. Agha’s DJ chops… and Miguel knows parties. It was immediately decided that we would host Taimur for a set in San Francisco.
Providing support, is KMLN Berlin, a multi-instrumentalist producer duo comprised by Italian-American Christopher Wayne Tooker () and Italian-Romanian Alex Lucian Moaca. Another hot act that you might be familiar with, but won’t soon forget. Trust us on this.
Finally, opening the night and setting the mood, our resident Victor Vega will be playing a two hour set. Come early.

Taimur Agha
We pick up the tale of Taimur in ’99 when the Pakistani born youth set sail from his childhood home of Abu Dhabi, bound for freedom’s shores… arriving in NYC an innocent lad, he came upon the infamously debaucherous club Twilo, and well… fill in the rest yourself… Taimur went out and bought turntables… started to gig… then to throw parties… received formative mentoring from UK veteran Craig Richards… got a job in a record shop… became host of an internet radio show… and now after 1001 nights of music, epic struggles and heroic dedication, Taimur is just now triumphantly entering your consciousness as a true force to be reckoned with… or at least a key player who has made an indelible mark on NYC’s Techno scene; which, in the city that never sleeps, is certainly something.
As co-resident of the Blk|Market parties he launched in 2006 with partner Fahad Haider, Taimur has programmed over 200 events at which he has played alongside a litany of the world’s best DJs including Sven Vath, Laurent Garnier, Tyrant, DJ Koze, Scuba vs. Scb, Marco Carola and Ben Klock, to name merely a fraction; but more impressive still is the list of talent Blk|market has debuted in NYC. Those names include Cassy, Margaret Dygas, Art Department, Melon, Mountain People, Jamie Jones, Matt Tolfrey, MyMy, Reboot and Wighnomy Brothers, evidence that Taimur is more than another promoter who fancies himself a DJ – he is a guy with his ear to the ground who isn’t afraid to push boundaries.

KMLN Berlin
KMLN is a multi-instrumentalist producer duo, Christopher Wayne Tooker (italo-american) and Alex Lucian Moaca (italo-romanian). Both of them have dedicated their lives to Music, and besides producing spent most of their years in bands. Even though they are known for producing electronic music as well as DJIng, their musical back round ranges from playing Jazz to Heavy Metal. They’ve been around Berlin since January 2011. After several months jumping from club to club, the city, their music and its people made the rest!
One of the most discussed acts in Berlin regularly playing clubs like Watergate, Weekend, Kater Holzig and new bar25 Chalet; As experienced musicians, with years spent in bands and extensive touring, they adapt to any surrounding and deliver extremely entertaining performances. In less than 2 years, they’ve already played cities in Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Sweden, France, Italy, USA and just finished a 2 month tour in Mexico. Next up more shows in California before continuing on 2013’s European Tour, that will also include a month long tour in South Africa.
Besides having released with fellow SF up and coming act, Navid Izadi on labels such as “Crosstown Rebels”, with Signal Flow (Mikey Tello & Ray Zuniga) for “Touch Of Class Records” in San Francisco, they also own their own record label called „Kameleon“ based in Berlin, that releases their own productions, along with other established artists and fresh up and coming talents.
Whoever tours with KMLN lives the music – dancing, singing and performing – bringing a whole new level of integrated entertainment to the DJ scene. Among the instruments played you can hear vocals, piano, sax & trumpet but most of all drums & violin. With KMLN you can be what you want to be – every color is a stone for the richness of a mosaic they create. Every color stands for a feeling and represents the many sides of their music, which ranges from deeper house elements, hip hop, techno, abstract and british influenced modern electronica, with a very organic swing throughout all their productions.
